Great find in Seattle! Comfortable stay! Unbiased review

We were searching for an apartment with good access to downtown Seattle. All of them we found had limited parking and charged an outrageous amount for it. Rent was so much higher at other places even down the street!
Honest Review:
Yes the buildings are old. Built in the 60's. BUT that has it's good points! Walls are thick! I never heard neighbors. Yes we were there almost 2 years. NEVER heard them. We were in 2nd floor apartment. nothing upstairs or to the sides(yes they were occupied). I NEVER had to use heating. The whole time we were there we didn't turn it on in any room! It was comfortable too! No coats or layers or fridges open in the summer!
The grounds are immaculate! Always kept up! You don't find this often. Maintenance and grounds are constantly on site (I know this i've worked form home).
The apartment is next door to some shady neighborhoods but itself isn't shady. There were a few crimes that were in the vicinity but didn't involve the complex that I knew of. I had a brand new car that was never touched. If you want parking I advise the covered spot. It gets a bit cramped at times.
We used the amenities quite often. Indoor/outdoor pool and fitness room. The indoor pool was somewhat conquered by a few rowdy people each night and it seemed to be out of commission quite often. The outdoor was perfect. The fitness room had limited stuff but way more then most places.
Some complaints: No speed bumps. People would RACE down the street. Near accidents all the time..Be careful with that. DO NOT let children play in the complex. This isn't a kid friendly place. The management was friendly until you moved in. We didn't really have problems but they were not very personable people. The appliances were long in the tooth. Dishwasher was about useless. Never would get stuff clean. Sink and toilet would clog often. The shower would clog every 3-4 weeks for no reason. With drano applied it would remove the clog. The shower would spit more water out of the bath spigot then the shower head. The flourescent light in the bathroom would flicker and hurt your eyes. They "replaced it" but it still did the same thing. No washer and dryer in the unit. The laundry facilities were a long ways away(inside the building in the basement). The machines would foul up and the dryers took about 3 bucks to even dry a load of towels completely!
If you don't mind the old dated appliances then this will do fine. It is a nice place to live. The rent is very reasonable. You won't find better in this area that is for sure!

I recently returned to this apartment for a visit since moving out a few years ago. The apartment looks pretty much the same from the outside but unfortunately a Liquor store has moved in very close. This has added to traffic and some very shady characters. No doubt this will increase the crime in the apartment complex and area unfortunately as this is what happens with a Liquor store. The apartment and area looked a lot busier now than a few years ago.
