The best apartment complex this close to downtown

We have lived in Executive Estates for four months, and after living in several apartments in three different states, and working in apartment management myself, I can say that this is one of the best complexes. It's an older complex, but it is amazingly clean. Our apartment was spotless when we moved in, and we were lucky to get brand new carpet, vinyl, and a high-efficiency washer/dryer. We can sometimes hear our neighbors, but we've had the fewest noise problems of anywhere we've lived.
After moving from an apartment in Orlando where maintenance calls were often completely ignored, it's great to have such responsive maintenance people who will even complete your request during whatever time frame you request.
We had one annoying experience with an obnoxious security guard who seemed to take personal offense to our loud TV, but it's nice to know that we have someone to call if our neighbors are ever too loud.
Living in Northgate does require a commute if you work downtown, but there are bus stops right outside the complex. The rent is reasonable, especially compared to other complexes we looked at. There is also a great workout room and a nice indoor pool/whirlpool, so not having to pay for a gym membership makes the rent even more worth it!
