First AME AKA Bryant Manor Apartments on 18th and Yesler once upon a time was a nice place to live. The FAME Church hired a management company to manage the tenants in their apartments. This is all well and good if the heads of the management company are able to live peaceably among other people. However, if management does not want to live peaceably or if they 'don't like you' then you are in a world of trouble. They have systematically evicted good, christian, loving families that have lived in these apartments for years. This recently happened to a christian woman that I know very well. She didn't have any place to go and went to service at the First AME church on 14th and Pine, asked the pastor (man of God) to please help her and her children continue to live at Bryant Manor. They didn't have anywhere else to go and had lived there for 16 years. She was told by the 'man of God' at First AME Church that if the management company evicted her and her children then the company was 'doing their job'. If God truly blesses a church with rental properties then it is the responsibility of the church to treat these properties as a blessing from God. What would God do with the rentals' Of course God would make sure that families that need homes would live in these apartments without having to worry about 'management not liking this one or that one'. When God blesses a church with rental property you'd better make sure that God's heart agrees with the way the church treats it tenants. Do unto others the way you would have others do unto you pastor of First AME Church and owner of Bryant Manor Apartments. Do God's work and you will be in God's will. Work out your own salvation... Make sure that you are in God's will.
