When i first moved into my apartment a lot of odd things were not working but gary (maintenance guy/manager) would always fix them real quick. The size of these apartments are pretty big for how much you pay. I looked at other apartments off of craiglist and i believe you get the most bang for your buck here. the hipster bar (the redwood) next door can be annoying but its something you get used to. When my friends come over they always look really surprised to hear people screaming outside in the middle of the night but i really don't pay attention to it anymore. there have been some awkward moments though...there are three half way houses across the street festered with crazy people/drug dealers (ive been offered drugs outside my apartment). One guy actually tried to sell me an ipod, it was hilarious. There is also a guy that wears nothing but a bathrobe outside all the time, hes my favorite. bottom line its not a very safe street in capitol hill. I drive as well and i read a post that said it was an average of 45min driving around. thats --------. you can find parking if you know the licks. meter maids never give tickets for 30 minute load zones unless they are truck/commercial vehicles only!
the building is always really clean and EXTREMELY ORGANIZED! i must get like 5 announcements slipped under my door every two months. The managers can be mean sometimes. you really have to kiss their ass if you want to be in there good graces. i really just try to walk the line because there is nothing worse than having your landlord hate you.
