I haven't lived in Seattle long, but of the 3 places I've lived this is my favorite by far. I moved here from North Carolina, and have been slowly acclimating myself to the city. Management at the Hawthorne has gone out of their way to help me do that. Friendly, courteous, and very helpful, I have nothing but nice things to say about them.

I love my apartment!! Spacious, with lots of light, it was exactly what the craigslist ad said it would be. Rent in Seattle is higher than in NC, but given the location, and after looking at other apartment buildings in the area, the Hawthorne hasn't stood out as being overpriced. Higher than some and lower than others, it seems in line with the rest of the neighborhood. Being 3 blocks from downtown Seattle is worth every penny of the rent I pay here.

There are certainly some colorful characters that populate the street during the day and at night, but no more than I've come to expect from Seattle and Capitol Hill in general. For the most part while I wouldn't invite any of them over for dinner, they seem harmless.

Overall my experience at the Hawthorne has been great!! I hope to be here for a long time, and would recommend the building to anyone who asked.
