I lived here several years ago and I loved it. The apartment was nothing fancy - no leasing office, pool, or gym that you ultimately pay to maintain but rarely use, just your basic living with a great layout and a lot of space. I loved that the landlord lived on site and was there in an instant if you had an issue, maintenance problem, or if you weren't home he'd sign for your packages. The building is secure with a secure parking garage. The only downside was that there's no washer/dryers in units, but with a set on each floor we never had a problem getting our laundry done (and could even run multiple loads at a time if no one was using the washers on other floors). When we moved out we had the option of getting more of our damage deposits back by helping clean the unit. That's actually a great idea for a landlord, because you don't have to pay a professional company to come in and do it, plus most of the cleaning is done while the current residents are still on lease so the unit can be released faster. I know I probably did a more thorough job than a cleaning company, knowing that if it didn't meet the standard I wouldn't receive the money back. In the end everyone won. Bravo Howell St Apts!
