It use to be better

The apartment structure is great. The detail and charm is excellent. I moved in 4 years ago- the managment was so helpful. They did some exterior work as well as new windows and carpet...changed owners too. Ever since the renovation the staff are different. Managment use to treat residents like they cared if they lived here. Now I'm told that I should be lucky to have rent as low as I do (which raised again!). Now it seems like just any other old building that keeps raising rent and not thinking about the people living in it. I'm sure when I move someone who has more money will like the place. But It use to nicer, more quaint. I'll be moving very soon so the next body can move in.

As a resident of the John Alden, I must say that rent increases are normal. Anywhere you go, there are going to be increases. It appears this current/former resident does not understand that we rent space from this building and as the rent market changes, so does the rental price. I, too, received an increase and when I looked into moving to another property, I realized that I had it good at the John Alden and moving would actually cost me much more. So fellow John Alden dwellers: enjoy the apartments; be nice to the workers and be kind to each other! I love our neighbors and don't know who would write such things about our community or those who run the building with love and dedication.
