The building is one of HRG's low-income properties. The nice part is that HRG screens prospective tenants for employment history and then does a criminal background check. The building is non-smoking and everyone seems to be very nice. Maintenance and management are a crackerjack team; they address every issue within 24 hours.
Apartments are old, it's an old building. But the windows are new and double-paned to keep out the noise. There's very little noise that crosses from one apartment to another, except for footsteps from above every now & then.
Rent is affordable! $680 for a large, charming 1-bedroom apartment on First Hill.
No mod cons. No parking, but on-street parking is easy to come by and is in Seattle's Zone 21.
Laundry room is smartcard system, which is very convenient. No more hoarding quarters!
The only problem that can't be solved is the hospital machinery next to the northwest corner of the building. It cycles through and up every 3 minutes. You get used to it.
