I have been living in La Villa for the past 6 months. I really like it. The building has a lot of charm, each unit is unique with a lot of interesting details.

The on site manager is hard to get a hold of if you need him ASAP (he never answers the phone) BUT in my expierience he always gets back to you in 24 hours. He is a little odd, but very nice.

I have not needed any major repairs done so I can not speak to the manager's efficiency in fixing building problems.

Also, I am still under lease, so my rent has remained the same (very reasonable!!!). I have heard rumors of the management raising the rent after the 6 month lease is up.

The front door is sometimes propped open by tenants, and also it sometimes does not always lock. But my front door is very sturdy and has a nice dead boltlock. I do not worry much about security being next door to a fire station and two blocks from the police station.

Parking can sometimes be a problem, but only if I am trying to park after 10pm when most of the area's residents are home for the evening and people who are going to the various bars and clubs around the area are parked too. I have never not been able to find parking within one or two blocks.

As for the aleged drug problem mentioned in the previous posts, I have not noticed anything. I did witness the on site manager deal very effectivley with a man who maybe was a resident (''') who was possibly doing something with drugs. I could not get all the deatils. Anyways, the important thing is that the manager had the man removed by police and possibly evicted.

I moved in because of they allow pets, are reasonably priced, and the apartment is really cute and unique (one of my friends has already called dibbs on the place when I move out :-)) It has met all my expectations, and I can see myself living there for at least another year.

I have seen people dealing drugs on the front steps as I come home, a tenat was pissing into the bushes. One of the guys there thinks its ok to let his pitbull run loose with out a collar or leash.

I called the cops on a woman who led a guy into the basment to sell drugs.
