10 Reasons to Hate the Luxe at Meridian:


1.Each apartment is full of ants sure the staff like to say that they will spray for ants next month but the management never does. It does not matter how clean you are because the ants are rampant and come in through the walls, kitchen cabinets, windows, doors, and outlets. They are currently more prevalent due to the construction work that stirs them up.

2.It is very loud, and messy. They are tearing the walls apart to fix the plumbing. This means that the plumbers will turn off the water every day! There is never a legal notice about the water getting turned off. In fact, sometimes I go to take a shower and I cannot because there is no water! On a regular basis, I wake with a noise in my head from the work they are doing. Plus, they come into the units to do a lot off dusty work that will take you hours to clean up. For example, they cut holes into the walls and leave behind huge amounts of ceiling/wall dust. Moreover, no one tels you what they will be doing there and so they open up your closets and cabenits to take out your personal things, when all they have to do is tell you to empty it yourself so that strangers are not going through your belongings. Lastly, when your water does come back on, it is rusty and a sickening dark brown!!!

3. Beware that the utility bills are too high! They want around a hundred dollars a moth for two people for water, sewer, and garbage. There is a lot wrong with this the water, sewer, garbage is not even metered, I don t know how they decide who pays what. The bill jumps every time people move out! Currently, half of the residents are gone and as a direct result the remaining people get stuck with a higher bill. My bill (water, sewer, garbage) went from approx. $65 a month (still high) to over $80 a month, and now it is $ 97 a month! The raise has just occurred in the past few months. Note, that this means more people are moving out hmmm, I wonder why! Why should I pay for the apartment s mistakes of raising rent, being rude, not repairing stuff, ect. and making people move out. How can they expect to have a full house if they are raising the rent' They are basically evicting people by charging over $300 a month more when leases expire! Yes, that is right they are increasing the rent by $300 a month. It is an easy way to get tenants to move, remodel the old unit, and charge even more.

4. Everyone has a mold problem that is bad for their health. This problem is very serious! Please note the mold pages in the lease that give great tips on how to clean the mold because the apt. will not clean it.

5. One of the biggest problems is the management- they are extremely rude, belligerent, and uncaring. Once you sign the lease they will stop being nice. Half of the time they are not even in there office. If you ask a question, they won't respond or return calls. The office staff changes every three months who knows, maybe they hate it here too. In stead of remolding, the Luxe should spend their money training the staff on customer service.

6. The owners are awful. They are very greedy and do not follow landlord tenant laws. They turn off the water all of the time without notice, for which I may take them to court. They are also very cheap. For example, when they changed the locks on my door they only gave me one key, despite the fact that I have two people on my lease. I was told that they could not afford to make an extra copy!!! WTF'

7. The place is trashed; they have installed tons of cameras because angry tenants are messing the place up with graffiti, and more. Two of the staff got into a verbal fight and started to leave nasty comments on the walls by the elevator about each other! And this behavior is from the staff'! What kind of a company has staff leaving graffiti around!

8. All of the windows are very old (30 years)! At least one of them has fallen out onto a tenant! They are very dangerous! The last I heard, she still might sue! My own windows have lost the sealant around them and wobble. They are not very thick and let in a lot of cold air in the winter, which in turn causes the heat bill to go up.

9. The apartment hallways smell like vomit and weed mixed together!

10. This is the worst apartment ever! Stay away. The may say Luxe all they want but there is no luxury here!
