Madison Street is very loud, and if you get an apartment with any windows facing this street you will hear a constant drone of traffic noise. Madison also seems to be the street of choice for ambulances and police cars rushing down to madison valley or the central district.
The 7/11 across the street attracts some pretty sketchy characters after dark, and several times I've been woken up but some crazy drunk screaming or fighting with another drunk at the 7/11.
I moved into Madison Court apartments in August 2005. Before I moved in my building manager told me he would install new hardwood floors in the apartment, which sounded great. I hired movers and the movers and I showed up on August 5, the appointed move-in date, to find the floor installer guy just finishing up. The entire apartment was covered in dust from the flooring work, and the apartment hadn't been cleaned yet. To top this off while installing the floors the guy accidentally severed the phone lines, so there was no longer a usable phone jack in the apartment.
I moved all my stuff in and cleaned the place myself, but continued to find little things in ill repair: the fridge's handle was broken off, half of the electrical outlets didn't work, the shower water pressure is unreliable in the mornings and sometimes there is no cold water.
There were no screens in the windows but the building manager promised me as I was moving in he'd get replacements installed soon. Months went by, I called every week about the screens and there was always some excuse about why they hadn't come in yet. Finally after 3 months I gave up and resigned myself to no screens.
The washer and dryer is 5 floors down in the basement of the building, accessible by crossing a decrepit floor with holes in it. The washers and dryers seem to be often out of order.
And to top the entire experience off, this spring the building manager brought in window cleaners. In the process of cleaning my unit's windows, the cleaner accidentally kicked in my kitchen window. They replaced it quickly, but I don't even know why they cleaned this window, since it faces the brick wall of the neighboring building 4 feet away.
The entire experience of living here has been seriously dissapointing.

wow, some people just aren't happy unless they're whining... I live in this girls old apartment, she makes it sound like she's all clean and crap...HA! she left cat ---- behind, and worse..I did get a laugh that the same (or different) window cleaners did the same thing to my kitchen window, but the tenant before me cracked it without saying anything to the management so it's all good.

I know for a fact that this "Anonymous" poster gets a discount on his rent because he has business deals going with Omar the building manager. Do you get an extra $30 off if you write positive reviews about Madison Court too?
