This complex so clearly has so little regard for the comfort of its residents...

I've lived here since October of 2007. First, I was shown a unit that was way larger and had way more light than the unit I was given, and was told it was the exact same layout only oriented differently. I was never allowed to see the actual unit before move in. When I moved in, they were in the middle of a remodel (replacing all siding and windows) and scaffolding was blocking all my windows and my sliding glass door. I was told that the remodel would be finished by the end of October and that I was so lucky to get to move in now - while rent was still low but I'd get to enjoy the remodel for the majority of my tenancy. HA! My actual windows were not replaced until early December (after they made me board my cats THREE SEPARATE DAYS because "they were going to do the windows that day.") The scaffolding was up - blocking the windows and door - until the end of December. That was finally removed, but then the poorly-installed sliding glass door leaked and damaged a bunch of my stuff while I was out of town (to their credit, the contractor did agree to compensate me for my losses). The front door of the building was un-usable for at least 2-3 stints of a week each (meaning, no visitors could buzz at the door and we had to walk around outside to the front of the building (in Seattle, in winter!) to get our mail. It's March and they just today installed the last of my window screens despite repeated requests - and have now blocked all my windows and screen doors AGAIN, this time with plastic, and let me know after the fact that it needs to be like that for 7-10 days. All in all, I have been able to use my sliding glass door - a major feature of the apartment - for less than 1/4 of the days I've lived here AND PAID FOR IT. The management told me when I first complained (in November or December) that they had decided from the outset not to compensate tenants for the inconvenience. I thought that was ridiculous at the time but it's gotten downright unacceptable. As for the rest of the experience of living here - the parking is acceptable though not very secure. The building is actually very quiet - I hardly ever hear my neighbors. The building was very shabby when I moved in but I admit that the remodel has improved things. The management here is friendly enough but seems ineffectual - they pay lip service to complaints but getting things done around here is damn near impossible. The maintenance man here is the best part of this complex. Very responsive and always friendly.
