This place is on a bad block. Just a couple blocks over anywhere else is nice. The corner has drug addicts all over and really aggresive homeless people. It is not safe at all. I was harassed walking during the day on more than one occasion. I paid for a month, being from out of town, and only stayed a couple weeks. The building was not very secure. My neighbors were questionable. The room was really small and hot. Would not recommend to any female.

I stayed for a month in Marvin Gardens in 2003 when I first moved out to Seattle and thought it was a good place to get your feet wet in terms of living in a large city like Seattle. I never felt unsafe, but was always guarded, as it IS a large city and just outside of MG on the street is slightly shady. I parked one and a half blocks away morning and night and left early (before 7 AM) for work and often returned near dark or as it was getting dark. Again, though, I never felt unsafe. The facilities were sufficient at MG and houskeeping did a good job; my studio apartment had a fantastic view of the water. After all, this is a place mainly for people to stay for relatively short periods of time and has a lot of turnover in terms of clientele for just that reason. It's not a Four Seasons but it's not a hostel, either! I was quite happy with the service and neighborhood there even at the time I moved on to a more permanent place. Since moving back to the midwest, I often remember my time there with fondness when I was getting to know a new city, a great one! I miss Seattle.
