After I saw an ad on craigslist.com I thought this was too good to be true! A 2 bedroom with a view of Puget Sound for a reasonable rate...what could be wrong with the building or management' I found the awful ratings on this site and got the full picture. I decided to dig a little, and found out the rest of the story. The building was about to be converted to condos until the local real estate market went south. The previous owners pulled out of the conversion, but all the employees got short-timers syndrome when the building went on the market.
I grilled the new management on some of the things I had read. I came to the area at all times of the day to see if the homeless situation was unbearable. I did see a few, but nothing you wouldn't find in any other part of the city. The new company owns a maintenance company and have a reliable system for work orders which I've already tested. Everyone I've encountered from RP Management is friendly and helpful. The new company does not accept packages on behalf of tenants, but the post office is right down the street! I've never lived in a building that was willing to accept packages anyway.
I've lived in Seattle for over 15 years and I've lived in several apartments in Capitol Hill and Downtown. This is an incredible value and I'm glad I gave this building a chance!

Agreed on all points. I love my building, the management, my apartment, the maintenance order system, and the maintenance man. They changed the lights in my kitchen, living room and bathroom as I requested. They changed all of my power outlets as the power cord prongs would fall out of all of them. They changed my shower rod, fixed doors, etc. No matter my request, they obliged in a timely manner. I even requested a cloths rack like in my closets over my washing machine to hang clothes I do not put in a dryer and they obliged. They have no control over the homeless which I see all over the city near downtown. I could not be happier with my choice of places to call home. I would recommend Metropolitan Park at 601 Washington Street to all. I just left a 5000 sq ft home in Federal Way in a gated community with an awesome view near Salty's on Rondondo. My relative who owned the house came to visit and was impressed with my selection of apartment and location. I scored and I am happy with my choice!
