Olympus Apartments

Good but not great- could stand improvements. From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 12/2/2006 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006   Have lived on Western St. side for more than 2 years. With construction always present- IT IS NOISY! But usually neighbors are pretty quiet. Staff is pretty good but turnover is high and they need to figure out how to communicate between one another as one will often be unaware of what has transpited about living conditions, etc. They call themselves "concierge" but I fear it is mostly window dressing and in truth regard most residents as "expensive renters". They chit chat among themselves too much and should spend this time getting closer to us, the paying part of the equation. They sent out a detailed form for a resident survey but I have yet to receive mine for my review- thus the reason for this eval now. The ventilation is poor and with no AC it gets stuffy easily. If you open the windows you get NOISE AND CONSTRUCTION/TRAFFIC DUST blowing into your living quarters. The garbage removal shute is great- too bad they did not have the forsight to include a shoot for recylcables which are MANDATORY NOW IN SEATTLE, and thus you must truck these down yourself to a distant location in the garage only to "hope" the bin is present and empty. The apartment layouts are well engineered but storage is a problem if you own many things. Parking is good as is security but they have had some problems with items being stolen from the extra space available for storage. The rent is expensive but that is to be expected in this area of Seattle. Overall- a nice enough place but more attention should be given to instructing tennants what is expected of them, how to act, how or when to be quiet and respectfull of others. I think No. 1 is the staff must know what they really are and how to function if they are to succeed as their extensive marketing seems to point to.
