Upon moving to the One Thousand Eighth Avenue Apartments or OT8, I was warned about the management company, Pinnacle. But I did not listen. Besides Pinnacle manages quite a few buildings in Seattle so I figured they could not be so bad. I was wrong. I have lived here for two months and I have experienced LOUD renovation noises at 7 am in the morning for weeks now, office staff that tells you what they think you want to hear, and work orders that take forever to get fixed. If you cherish your sleep then this is not the place for you. I work a 9 to 6 job, five days a week and when I get a chance I like to sleep in. The construction from the renovation starts at 7 in the morning and consist of drilling, pounding and construction workers talking as loud as they can. I am anything but a complainer, in fact I am the most laid back person you will ever meet but the office staff's response to my issue was just insincere and unprofessional. I was told by the staff that the construction would cease until 10 am. They were seemingly very nice about the whole thing. Well it goes without saying that it did not cease and they basically brushed me off when I mentioned it again. It's not that fact that the construction is still going on that irritates me, it's the fact that they pretended to fix the problem and lied to me. Then I had to place a work order for my bath tub because it would not drain. Well three days went by, meanwhile the water in the tub is filled to the top and not draining, I am having to stand in old tub water to take a shower. I called again and apparently they "forgot" to let the maintenance staff know about it. It was fixed that evening and all was well. The truth is the apartments are pretty nice looking and there are lots of great amenities such as the hot tub, pool, and fitness center. My biggest issue here is the staff. Like most management companies, they are paid on a commission and in this case, once you move in they seemingly stop caring. I work in the real estate field and I am just buying time until I can own instead of renting an apartment. If you want to be taken care of and treated with respect and kindness, check out HSC Real Estate or Equity.
