I hated going home

The Rekhi Building may be the worst place I've ever lived. There's little to no insulation in the building, you can hear everything your neighbors do and when a door closes it shakes the whole building.
The manager is paranoid and unprofessional in the extreme, so much so it makes me wonder if he has some undiagnosed condition. Seriously, this dude is off his rocker. Crazy accusations, missed appointments, no grace period, screaming, just craziness.
There's a band of homeless folks that have taken up residence in the parking lot - the parking lot that I had to pay to park in. Management would do nothing. The bums party all night, yelling, fighting, cursing. They urinate all around the building so you have to walk through the odor to get in or out of the building. I have seen a homeless man peeing in the planted flower pot right by the front door - oh yeah, class all the way.
This neighborhood is going to hell. There are gang shootings and muggings pretty frequently and reeking homeless people taking up camp at the bus stops. People have been robbed at knife point at the bus stop right there at Lake City Way and 124th. I left as soon as my lease was up, couldn't get out of there fast enough.
For the rent they're charging you could get an apartment on Capital Hill - I did. And I LOVE living there, it's a pleasure to go home at the end of the day.
Too bad the city spent all that money to put in the nice retail and road improvements, then wouldn't spend a few dollars more for some police. They've put a five-dollar hat on a nickel head, basically.

Yes. Everything you say is true. Can't sleep at night b/c you can hear everything in the building! The bums do pee everywhere outside and when I walk to Fred Meyer, I have to cross the street and walk on the panda express/moneytree side for one block then cross back over after I've passed all the bums that would have been in my way on the opposite side of the street (in front of dollar store and Romios Pizza.) I heard there are a lot of people moving out b/c of these problems. I have plans of doing the same---soon.
