Nice area, building with charm, high ceilings, close to Broadway and 15th.

This is a nice building with small studios, but definitely a step up from most other buildings I've seen. Nice hardwood floors, high ceilings- nothing funky- nice and clean. You can tell it's a nice building from the hallway- it's well kept just overall looks nice. There's a nice small yard in back with little patio and nice shrubs in front and back of the building.
My unit was the corner unit on the first floor, and even though it was right next to the stairs, it was very safe here. My unit had four large windows and two huge trees outside- as well as the neighbor's lovely garden. It has a huge bath tub, but not much room in the bathroom to put your stuff. The kitchen is small too, but works fine for a single person.
The manager is friendly and helps out when you need it.
It's only two blocks from Safeway- if that's your thing. Otherwise- Rainbow Natural Grocery is only about 3 and a half blocks away on 15th. Volunteer Park isn't far either, and it's right on the busline to downtown or UW.
Although the units are small, it's a nice classic building that is really comfortable, and a lot nicer in general than most of the cheaper or bigger places that I've seen around this neighborhood.
When I started renting here in September 2001, my rent was $650, but with the bad economy it's gone down to $560.
