My lease is about half over and I have no intentions of renewing it! Here is why:
1. The dry cleaner moved -- it's been replaced by a tattoo parlor. They like to take smoke breaks and if you're living in building A facing west (lake city way) be prepared to smell the smoke, it has a way of floating up.
2. It's hot. Whatever the temperature is outside, add about 10 degrees and that's probably how hot it is in your apartment. THey don't allow window air conditioners which limits the means of reducing the heat in your apartment. Even during early spring it was hot.
3. I don't mind paying extra for amenities...IF THEY WORK. I've used the "business center" several times. One time the internet was down. The second time the printer was completely broken, the third time the printer was out of ink and there were papers scattered about, then it was closed completely for several days.
4. The pool has issues. It's one of those current pools. I tried using it three times. THe first two times it was closed, the third time it gave me a rash.
5. -----y manager. She's big, with a big ---- and she's a complte idiot. ------ I believe is her name. If you need something from them, don't expect a phone call to make it happen. If they need something from you, they'll call and call until they get what they need...maybe I don't want to do your stupid satisfaction survey.
6. JUNK MAIL. People leave junk mail on your door REGULARLY, I don't even know how they got in because it's "secured access". I've got ads from the salon downstairs (the guy is a jerk who owns the place), restaurants, political parties, and news letters.
7. There's a bar across the street, every once in a while, a fight will break out and you get to hear a bunch of yelling.
8. Homeless people sleep outside the granite company which is directly north of the A building, and there's a few that hang out across the street at the church. The northeast part of the building smells like urine.
9. The garage level 1 smells like a garbage dump.
Conclusion:
OVERPRICED for an apartment next to a bar, porn shop, tattoo parlor and bums without proper cooling and garbage facilities.

Agreed. The Tattoo Parlor is also the last draw for me.

I agree, the managers are absolute idiots. The ----- one is quite the dolt; she has no customer service skills at all, only when she was trying to sell apartments was she ever polite.
This place is outrageously overpriced for what you get; yes, its like a heat deathtrap when you live on the upper floors. There was even dog feces in the elevator waiting room on the 2nd garage level. Theres all these annoyances that add up really quickly that make a place that looks nice on paper, turn out to be a huge disappointment.
yes, the first garage smells like a dump. the business room is less equipped than a 10 year olds room. the 'gym' has a broken bench that hasn't been fixed in ages. The theater room is missing *gasp* the projector, hence making it null for quite a while. theres also some idiot tenants that get plastered and mill around the courtyard with nothing better to do than act like children. also, the surrounding area is quite possibly one of the trashiest places I've ever witnessed. overall, highly disappointing for the huge price you'll be paying.
however, one of my biggest qualms, yet the easiest one to fix, is the attitude of the management; you really have to treat and care about people better if you expect any praise- or for Solara to get any positive recommendations. you can't put on a front while you're 'playing' saleswoman, and then treat your tenants like unwelcome strangers once they sign the lease. Please do fix your attitudes!

could not agree more about the hot room, idiot manager and the "business center". It's more like a "monitor room without internet and broken printer". WHen I asked that idiot manager about the ink, she said it is "custom order" WTF? Just give me the money and I'll buy it from home depot

Absolutely in agreement. The manager and her staffs are complete idiot. Claiming to want work with you but really only work for themselves. Asking for unbelievable amount of money in your saving before allowing you to sign (18 month worth of monthly rent). Total discrimination. I am waiting for them put this in writing so I can report them to Housing Authority and sue them.

o yeahh. i have my fair share of sarcasm from the manager. everytime she sees me, she always have something ------ to say. and she never does anything that i ever told her. she's such a -----.
