Good place overall

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
I lived on the 1st floor of Summit Place from August 2001 thru December 2002.
It's a convenient walk to both Downtown and Capitol Hill. It's on a street/alley that sometimes sees some interesting activity, but that goes for the whole neighborhood.
The owners seemed to be great people and own two other nearby buildings. When I moved in, there had been a single manager for seven years.
That manager eventually left and there was another manager for roughly 2 months, and then another. The owners seemed to be having trouble finding a stable manager, but at no time did I feel the management was poor.
The roof of this building used to have a spectacular, panoramic view of downtown. You could see all the way to Pike Place Market! Unfortunately, they built another building in back of it while I was living there. By the time I moved out, the amazing view of downtown was almost completely blocked. I'm sure that lowered the property value some. (You can still see fireworks over Lake Union, however).
I never had any problems with security. While I did not own a car at the time, there was secure parking on the lowest level. I never had reason to complain about any other tenants.
Overall, this was a perfectly good place to live in a very interesting neighborhood.
