I just moved into the Harvard Crest, and so far have only experienced one of the complaints mentioned in other posts, the boiler went down today. However, as soon as I woke up and noticed it, I also noticed there was a note under the door explaining why and that the repairmen are coming today. This is an old building, you have to take the old world charm with the old world technology.
As to the other things- I frequently play my music at a decent level and never get complaints. I never hear my neighbors except a handful of times I have heard a foot step or two from the upstairs person walking around, but only at normal waking hours. The washroom has never been in use when I have tried to use it, though other people's laundry has been down there. There are also two great mud sinks that are really nice to have. The building is always clean and has a nice air freshened smell. Also, I live on the side of the building with the trash dumpsters, and have NEVER heard anyone rumaging, which is surprising considering I open my bedroom window at night right above them. The nights are shockingly silent actually. Parking can be a pain once in a while, but I usually get a spot on the block or one away.
I think this is a great place to live! Everything you could need is within two blocks of you. The bus routes across the street can get you almost anywhere and come frequently. The man who runs the building is great too!
