At first I thought this would be a great apartment.
It is true that it's fairly close to UW campus and that it is a newer building.
And in my experience, the maintenance was fairly prompt.
My biggest issue is with the management.
No one at the office ever answers the phone, and if you leave a message, it can take over a month for them to get back to you.
At the end of your lease, they take large mandatory fees out of your "refundable" deposit that was too much to begin with, and they charge extra fees for things like a fingerprint on the wall.
There was also a lot of noise, both from construction and neighbors (and that's saying something, considering that I lived on the top floor).
The space is too small for what you're paying.
I would suggest that until they replace the management and add some soundproofing, keep looking for something else.
You'll find something better for less money.

Tips for fingerprints on wall... Magic Eraser... also works great for the doors... those get dirty too.
Mgmt was def hard to reach. Mgmt is actually a big renting company that is 'rented' by the owners of the building... so they may not go anywhere. If this is just a place to sleep and study near UW, then this is it. If you are looking for a forever home... there are apts with bigger and better rooms outside U District for a lot less!
