i just thought i should chime in as the newest review is from january 07. i've been living here for almost 2 months now with my wife and 2 kids and we really like it. when we moved in, all of the renovations were already completed. if i had never read these reviews, i would just think this is a nice quiet neighborhood. no loud-ass booming car stereos, no "domestic disputes"... none of the negative things we're used to seeing in apartment living.

as far as the surrounding area not being nice... it's just older. so what' that doesn't make it a bad neighborhood. and the neighborhood DOWN the hill from us is REALLY nice.

from what i can tell, all of our neighbors are working professionals. sometimes you can hear music through the floor or walls, but that's pretty normal from all of the apartments and condos i've lived in... and they do have a noise ordinance, so it's pretty quiet after 10pm.

my commute to downtown is just about 10 minutes, sometimes less! there is a park about 1/2 mile away with a playground where we take the kids. it is also a leashless dog park, so a lot of people take their dogs there to run around.

overall, we're really happy here.
