Just don't live there

During my 18-month residence at The Queensborough, they hiked my rent $180. They justified these expenses with the implementation of a new security system (which often videotaped people running amuck in the building, but never actually catching any criminals) and the ever-increasing cost of property taxes (which should be a mute point since the building is completely paid for and has been by the current owner's family for years).
Also, the management was completely irresponsible and rude. Whenever I had an issue (as minor as a leaky faucet or as major as the lock on my front door no longer functioned properly) it literally took MONTHS for them to respond. And, that was if I was constantly harassing them with frequent office visits and regular voicemail messages.
The laundry facility (composed of six washers and seven driers for close to 100 units...not enough) was rarely fully functional. And, the rooftop deck - really the only amenity that the complex has to offer - was often closed during the middle of the day because whoever's job it was to unlock it simply hadn't.
By the end of my stay with The Queensborough, my life was less enjoyable simply because of my address. I do not recommend anyone live there.
Side note: I left my apartment in the EXACT same condition as when I moved in. I spent hours cleaning and making sure there were no problems. And, I didn't not receive one cent of my deposit back. Crooks.
