Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
Since I have lived here, I have had 4 apartment managers. All of whom never introduced themselves to me, just randomly showed up one day. They are flakey with their paperwork (I never could get a walk-through because they kept changing on me) and don't know anything about their own policies (I asked about sub-letting and they told me they didn't care as long as the rent got paid).
Aside from that. The apartments are rather large but not well taken care of. The carpeting is ----, there is large amounts of black mold (that is never really fixed) and there is a pest problem (mostly ants). I have notified the managers multiple times of these issues. They typically resolve one small thing or area but ignore all my other requests.
Further, when I first moved in they showed me the front door lock, etc. I have come to find that the front door is ALWAYS open and the back door to the building does not lock at all.
The parking lot is a joke. They were charging me $30 dollars a month extra until I realized that no one else actually pays to park back there. I have since stopped paying and no one has said a word to me about it. They only have about 6 spots and probably about 10 people trying to park in them. Since they won't enforce parking, it is pretty much everyone for themselves. The spots are also not well marking and I have been blocked in by others more than once. (Specifically one neighbor put his car up on blocks RIGHT behind mine for an entire saturday).
The neighbors I have had are all inconsiderate. They are loud (Weeknights playing music with loud bass until 2:30-4am). I have to go over to their apartment multiple times to ask them to shut up in one night. Everyone in the building smokes RIGHT outside the doors and the whole building reeks of smoke. I think people might even smoke in their apartments as the 3rd floor always appears smokey. Despite this being a pet-free building, there is at least one person who is currently living with a dog.
Aside from impolite neighbors in the building, the neighbors in the building next door appear to be selling drugs. They party as well every night until the wee-hours and I have called the cops on them multiple times.
I believe this apartment is horrendously overpriced and is a total rip-off. You can get a way better deal in U-district for $800 a month. I can't believe I fell for this place a year ago.
