Everything I wanted

I lived at Uwajimaya for 3 years. The first year in a studio then 2 years in a 1 bedroom. In all seriousness, I loved every minute there. But I'll give my honest evaluation as I appreciate it when I'm looking for a place.
Cons: Of course you might hear someone's music or somene walking above you or in the hallways, but that's apartment living. For the most part the walls are actually pretty thick. You can hear through the front door though, so if anyone is in the hallway for a longtime being loud, you hear it. I lived next to the elevators though and really didn't find it a problem. Also, if your window is open you can hear people in the courtyard, but most everyone is respectful of the noise curfew. I've even heard loud gatherings in the apartment above me, but they quited down by the curfew. If you're not into city noises it might bug you. I kinda liked the sounds of the trains, planes, helicopters, and car noises. That's the point of living dowtown, it's not the quite suburbs!
Pros: The location couldn't be better. You can get to the east side or north or south in a few short minutes. Where else can you live with I5 and I90 a couple blocks away. I used to run from the apartment along the waterfront. Great route! You can walk into dowtown, walk to Seahawks or Mariners games, walk to the post office, walk to Amtrack, chiropractors, a pharmacy, great restuarants, etc. Suburban needs are even close by with Costco being a couple miles south, Home Depot, Sears, and any shopping just a few miles away. Not to mention that it's on top of a grocery store, a food court, a bank, a bookstore and a salon! Everything I needed was right outside my door.
In addition, the management team was great. They knew my name (although there was a lot of turnover over the years I lived there, but everyone remained friendly and helpful). They even organized community gatherings to Mariner's games and bbq's. Honestly, I never went, but it was nice to know they offered it. They also did well to keep our cars as secure as possible. It's a busy place and you don't have assigned parking, but I appreciate the security that routinely walks the garage and building and the cameras everywhere. I never had a problem with my car in the garage. On busy shopping days they reserve stall for residents so you don't have to fight for spots with the shoppers. The parking attendants usher you right in!
And last but not least, the apartment itself. The studio was laid out so well, I never felt cramped. My bed was in an alcove so I didn't feel like I was in a studio. And the walk in closet was huge. My 1 bedroom was the best. It overlooked the courtyard and the reflection pool. I loved it. Whenever I had guests over (which was frequent) they all complimented me on how great the apartment was. The washer/dryer, fridge, stove, microwave all worked well and were in new condition. The decor was nice and contemporary. I was proud to live there.
I'm moving to a bigger city now and looking at the apartments there makes me sad. To get a place like Uwajimaya I'll have to pay double the rent, and really there is no place like Uwajimaya!
