What a load of crap

I lived at The Virginian for a year in two different units. Upon moving in, the apartments are in bad shape. Old dirty carpets, old paint on the walls that's chipping off, and I don't think anyone had ever cleaned the oven or stove (let alone the antique refrigerators). When this apartment building advertises that it "oozes with the charm of a past era" it means that it literally oozes, but it's not charm coming out.
When I moved out, they assured me that I'd get my deposit back in part or in full and that the damage to the unit was most definitely not my doing and I wouldn't be charged for it. Three months later I got a bill for $1600 for "excessive cleaning and damage beyond wear and tear." I had to hire a lawyer to get them off my back (and I never did pay a single penny).
DON'T LIVE IN THIS BUILDING! Get a place on capitol hill.
