absolutely recommend this apt complex

i have lived in this apt complex for nearly four years, although i will probably be moving closer to downtown, for ease of commuting to tacoma each day, and know that i will be paying more and getting lots less.... my rent only increase $45 in the four years, and i got a month free when i first moved in.
the pluses are: very quiet area, the grounds are lovely, the office staff and maintenance is wonderful and so helpful (will even go to your apt to unplug your iron, if you left it on), the local location is convenient for groceries, post office, starbucks, doughnuts, church, library, subway/thai/chinese eateries, easy bus access to uw, uvillage, downtown..in and around my building are folks who have lived here for years; a real friendly atmosphere..i feel very safe here...there's a pool, which is great for sunbathing and those days where it is just a bit too hot to be in the apt (although the ceiling fan is very helpful at these times), relatively spacious floorplan, with a front and backdoor, lots of kitchen cabinets,..oh,..and...you can paint the walls, if you wish (i did).
the downside: not really many mod cons.. i miss a dishwasher, w/d inside the apt (my only gripe with the laundry room is with the tenants who refuse to clean the lint screen, or who use tons of fragrance detergents), minimal electrical outlets (these are old cottages), can sometimes get moldy if you don't pay attention to circulation, that's about it, really...
street parking is normally available...sometimes late at night you may have to park a block down the street..but there is always street parking (unless you are lazy)
