A year in review...

Parking: Parking used to not be an issue. Within 2 months of moving in the management blocked out all the visitor parking, and what little visitor parking there is seems to be taken up by people too cheap to pay for an extra spot. When a recent guest of ours (one guest) came to visit she was told by management that it was OK to park in front of the clubhouse. The next morning there was a giant sticker attached to the rear window about her vehicle being in violation and subject to tow shortly. To make matters worse, the sticker doesn't just peel off, it's paper and requires a good deal effort to remove. Thus blocking your view out of your rear window until you can track down a razor blade.

Noise: It used to be fairly quiet, lately as the crowd moving in has become seedier you end up with more and more folk who like to listen to their car stereos at 3:00 am. On multiple occasions we have noticed blacked out police cruisers parked in the lot, running with an officer inside of them, only to have them take off without warning and flip their lights on after leaving the complex.

Management: Lousy so far... They have failed to follow up with us on required additional information. Failed to have facilities key available upon move in. Failed to have a mail key available upon move in. Facilities had been storing items in the unit's garage, wasn't cleaned out before taking possession. Told us wrong amount for initial move-in. Apartment condition sheet was illegible and had no room to write. When asked about it Ben's response was, "Sorry that's all we have.", Mona worked to print a better copy but it wasn't much better.

They never answer the phone when you call, will accuse of you lying to them about reporting it when you walk in to request a repair and follow up 8 hours later, then daily about when it will be done. Pretty much you have to submit every repair request in writing with notification of the city/state laws they must comply with. Which repair-wise is pretty pathetic when you live in a complex 3 blocks from Home Depot.

One of the above reviews has a rebuttal about the difficulties management has been dealing with, but to be quite honest they treat renters with quite a lot of contempt. The apartments around me have become rented, and as soon as those people's leases were up, most of them fled. Even the newly remodeled units seem to sit mostly empty.

Build quality: Unit had fresh paint and new carpet. Can hear a person in the bathroom upstairs taking a leak. Old doors stacked in trash area so that you cannot access the dumpsters. (Since removed) But now the trash seems to be emptied so infrequently that the dumpsters are typically overflowing and bags have been thrown on the ground. Good luck entering the dumpster corral without stabbing yourself in the chest with a knob protruding from the recycling bin. The kitchen looks as if something has been gnawing on the cupboards. The apartments need a refresh if they want to continue charging that amount of rent.

Toilets were leaking into the kitchen lights upon move-in, and then onto your kitchen counter that take a week to repair, then another month to actually get around to replacing the light assembly that was rusting/molding. Poor notification regarding painting of the apartment complex so that 5 days after the day tell you to move your vehicle (To where') you come home to find overspray on your vehicle. Not to mention they've blocked your front door so that you have to walk around back through mud to get into your apartment.

The power outlets are so worn out that 80% of them don't work without very carefully inserting/removing the plug to catch "just the right spot".

Clubhouse: Supposedly they were going to build a new clubhouse. What they have actually done is remodel the old clubhouse into the new management office with a sitting/tv area that pretty much nobody can ever use (but boy does it look nice) as it isn't available after hours, nor can one use it in a manner that makes noise as potential renters are coming by constantly.

Exercise Room: I went to exercise once, the floor was blocked by children whose parents felt it was the daycare center and had dropped them off to watch TV. I haven't bothered to go back.

Pool/Jacuzzi: Haven't been able to try either, always overrun by children. So, I guess they're great if you have kids, not so great if you don't like soaking in a hot tub with 4 year-olds.

It is conveniently located near QFC, Target, banking, Home Depot, storage, police station, city pool, and library, it has a bus stop right outside the units, and is a short (20 minute) bus ride (Route 120) into downtown.

It is a passable place to live, but if I can help it I will not be renewing my next lease. I do wish management would be prepared, pro-active, friendly, and actually helpful. So far it seems as if they are more interested in getting places re-leased than providing service after the condo bit fell through.

And as you can see from other reviews, management actively reads this board and is willing to insult and retaliate against tenants.

I would like to say something about this statement: Parking sucks!! "Parking hasn't been an issue, even with 2 cars... Not sure one should really be throwing larger parties in an apartment/townhome unless they're actively interested in being inconsiderate of their neighbors. This is what renting the clubhouse would be for. There seems to be plenty of extra spaces around the clubhouse and outside the rental office." I found this to be quite an unrealistic statement. We, as tenants, have the right to have our friends or family or anyone we want to invite to our homes. This does not equal "having a party", or being "actively interested in being inconsiderate". I'm not going to rent out the clubhouse just so I can eat a spaghetti dinner with my friends. How ridiculous!! If a visitor with a vehicle wants to stop in, there are no available parking spots for that person. The available parking was overtaken by the Management; striped and numbered, then painted RESERVED. This forced any tenant who owned a car to now pay for parking that was originally included in their rental agreement. West Ridge Park is outside the core of the city. Why the hell are we being forced to pay for parking inside our complex that is way outside the city's core. We're not downtown! Nowhere else in the area is an apartment complex charging for parking. I think the original poster actually needs to walk outside after 7pm and count how many spaces in front of the clubhouse are actually available. They will find 1-2 out of 7-8 if they're lucky. Most likely, there will be none. If you live in the back of the complex, and a friend with a vehicle stops by and parks in front of the clubhouse, your friend will be walking about a 1/4 of a mile before they reach your front door. Hopefully... it won't be raining! I will give accuracy points to everything else this person wrote in their posting... The Management was so perfect before Allied took over. I have no idea who runs the office anymore. But, what I find worse, is that they don't know or care who we are.

As a current tenant at this complex, I completely agree with every statement this person is making. Management never, ever, EVER returns calls! If you do talk to someone live, they never want to actually help you. If you have a problem with neighbors, they will NOT GET INVOLVED. PERIOD. Instead, they just tell you to stop by and fill out a form. That's they're response, and I do believe, they're solution to your problem. And they do lie about conversations involving money (deposits) or move-in/move-out issues. Please take heed to our warnings, we are telling you the truth.

Agree with the first and third response. I lived here for 6 months, still have a relative living at these apartmetnts and they're not any better than they were when I lived there. I don't recommend moving here.

Please, please I worn you be very careful when you move in/out of this place. I promise you they will try to sue you for ANYTHING they can above and beyond your deposit! I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone! Staff is extremely dishonest.
