don't recommend moving here

Landlords tend to use bullying and coercive tactics - mostly concerned with money & treats tenants as though we're lesser persons or not persons. Most tenants are low income and the owners know this - takes advantage of the fact that most tenants cannot afford an attorney. Landlords have repeatedly threatened to charge tenants for damage that is not theirs. For example, dung on the lawns from animals that walk through (there is no fence). Must contact landlord through written requests to do most repairs adequately. The area is a bit dangerous - between the buildings there have been apparent drug deals. There is a lot of stolen goods from porches and it is no use to report it. It is a candy store for the thieves. We've had several items stolen from our cars - bicycles stolen (landlords refuse to provide a bike rack and demand that we don't lock our bicycles up below stairwells. Neighbors have had their cars broken into. Some of the units are infested with cockroaches and carpenter ants - the owners tend to blame the tenants when repairs & maintenance are reported - demonstrates an entitlement philosophy. The owners need to powerwash the buildings and create a boundary between the dirt, the foundation & the building - presently the dirt borders the building with cobwebs. Most neighbors however are highly respectful. It is a rather quiet setting and has great potential if the owners would just see past the dollar signs & their "entitlements" & actually take care of their tenants & property rather than trying to milk us for every little cent. Parking is adequate. Family owned & operated - surprisingly management is highly unprofessional. They waste a lot of time writing ridiculous & threatening letters rather than actually doing things to improve the property. The insulation is horrible - in neighboring units can hear the neighbors talking at night. Management has also lowered the standards in the tenants that they allow to come in - newer neighbors are rough, violent demeanors & partiers. It used to be a nice place for families - I wouldn't recommend it to anyone now. Must add that some neighbors harrass the children as well. Very sad for those us families who can't afford to live anyplace else.
