Beware, before you sign lease make sure you read very well, they also have a no fault mold agreement. VERY IMPORTANT TO READ MOLD AGREEMENT, I have more pictures these are just a little sample of what it's like.

We moved in July 2007 and will be out this month May 2008. Winter started and we found Toxic Mold around the a/c unit in all the corners of the wall facing the outside. Also on one of the main walls in the living area. As well as in the carpet and length wise on the walls. On windows the front door drips water into the unit as the attic doors do on the carpet.

Make sure you look at the hinges from top to bottom on front door you will see rust in at least 5 of the units I saw.

We told maintaince they said we had to clean it. We did our research and as a tennant you are not to touch it. It took them weeks to come out. We were told it was "common and do to bad construction".

Mold came back again, again it took along time for them to clean it. Then after the 3rd time they put a sealent on it and called it good. Mold is still growing around it and on back side of wall.

Our next door tennant and downstairs tennant same problems. We started asking other tennats and could not beleive how bad the mold is here. You will not see it cause they seal it with Kilz and paint over it so you will never know.

After a letter was written to Owner of Greenstone homes, finally they let us move to another unit, which we have found mold that has been coverd up. Tennats under and beside us had moved out. We were not accomidated at all with anything reasonable asking to use a dolly or for some help. We were told corporate would come look, they did and weeks later we got a call stating there are no leaks to be found. Huh' never said anything about a leak it's growing mold in the walls and windows and a/c units.

We were told to run our fans for a certain amount of time a day and that there is a automatic timer in the laundry room. We ran all of our fans all of the time hoping it would help, including the ceiling fan and we had two floor fans along with a dihumidifier we were told that would help. Our timer was set by maintance and it never came on so we flipped the switch on manually along with one in each bathroom and the kitchen.

Hopefully Adirondack can come up with a soultion to resolve the moisture issue. Maybe put locks on the timers so when the mold does start popping up they can't blame it on the tennant for not "turning on the fans for 6 to 8 hours a day"

Beware alot of turnover and lack of communication.

My face has a rash on it and now has some scaring and my whole family had been sick with upper respitory and other health challenges sense we had moved here. We have never been this sick before besides the common colds and a flu bug now and then. Our Dr's said it's from the mold and to get out quickly. I now have to go to a dermatoligist and have treatments I use to have very nice skin. My older son has had to have an inhaler which he has never had any breathing challenges before.

Mold on our furniture and mildew from bathroom cabinents. We asked them to replace it and they said would get back to us and never have.

Make sure you do your research on mold and lanlord tennant laws in the state of Washington.

These units are constructed with a ventalation system that is not tied into the heating system. With this, it requires a seperate ventilation system to handle humidity on the interior living space. This is controled with a timmer. This fan sould run for roughly four hours on a daily basis. When a tennant tampers with this timmer and shuts it off than there is no way for the humidity to escape. When there is cold weather outside this moisture will condence on colder surfaces such as exterior walls or metal door hinges on exterior doors. This moisture is enough to start mold growth. This is an extremely efficiant construction method for these types of units but when a tenant changes the functionality of the system and effects the unit with their living condition, there is no way to control this issue.

"Our timer was set by maintenance and it never came on so we flipped the switch on manually along with one in each bathroom and the kitchen." Looks like the timer was broken as well. If those pictures of mold are real, and they were taken in the apartment, the leasing company should be taking this far more seriously. It looks like something is ooozing out of the wall. That cannot be safe. We must have some pretty bad tenant protections in Washington, if the tenant is considered responsible for this crap construction that leads to something that looks like those pics do. I hope the leasing company stepped forward to help with the medical bills for their "bad construction". If not, please, someone sue them so there will be a precedent to protect us all in the future. Best of luck on that.

My timer was set when I moved in and I havn't had any problems with mold or anything of that sort. I spoke with the staff as I was concerned when I saw this review before I moved in and they told me the same thing the first tenant above said. The fan and ventelation system was not used and the mold growth was not reported to them unitill it was already our of control. The leasing company transfdreed those tenants to another unit while their prev unit was completely overhauled to completely get rid of the mold. Like I said... I enjoy living here and have never heard anything else like this.
