Great if you have dogs...

I live at Cedar Hollow, the sister apartments. I have been here for 3 years. We like the location and the fact they allow not only dogs but large breeds. The apartments are nice enough, although they could spend more of the money they wasted on the exterior to upgrade things on the inside.

My biggest complaints are parking, there is never enough parking. Either you are assigned a garage or a carport, while most of the residents are good about using their carports if they have one, the folks who have garages are horrid about using their own garages for parking, instead they use it for storage and then take up free spots that should go to other folks who need the free spots. Or you have the residents who are complete lazy jerks who just want a closer parking spot and will take up a free space unless their garage or carport happens to be closer. My downstairs neigbor has a carport and more than once I have seen someone else park in her carport, one night she had to park accross the street because a guy took her spot all night, and given that she has lived her longer than myself, I know that she religiously parks in her spot and hardly if ever has to park elsewhere, so I know he just parked there to be an a**. I personally have 2 cars, one belongs to my husband and the other I drive, we use our garage like they want you to, we park in it. But I on the other hand have to park in the parking lot. Fine and dandy, except forget about finding a spot half the time, especially if you come home late at night from work. I can't tell you how many times I have either had to park at the grocery store or library because there was no parking. After you have lived here as long as I have you know who uses their garage for storage and who doesn't. Management pitches such a fit when you first move in about using your garage for storage (As every tenant is given a storage unit so should not be using their garage for putting their crap) unfortunately management fails to reinforce this.

The management has some problems, they seem to not be able to keep employees for a certain amount of time. Since I have been here I have seen over 5 managers come and go for both properties. As everyone else has mentioned; forget ever finding a manager or having them call you back.

Maintanence staff; the two who take care of that around here are a joke. I can't tell you how many times we have needed something fixed and they either could not fix it or could not do it correctly and had to come back multiple times, or trashed our house while repairing something. Our stairs to our place, the bottom step has been loose since the day we moved in, and we have asked several times for them to fix it...it was fixed once...broke the next day. This place does need to seriously hire some professionals.

As others have mentioned they are very strict about late rent. As in, it has to be in by the last minute of the 4th day or you get a nice dandy $100 dollar late fee. $75 of that is the actual late fee itself, and the other $25 is for when they post that nice threat notice on your door, that is for them having to walk, or majority of the time they drive it to your door.

Carpet is old and doesn't look bad, but we had someone come in and tell us it was very old, almost the original carpet. When I move out and they charge us for it, I am not paying it, when I moved in, there was ink stains that still to this day we can't get out and we have had our carpets shampooed many times.

This apartment is not for the first time renter, my husband had, had rental history in the past but I had not. So they charged me an extra $300 deposit. Also if you like to sleep in on Saturday morning forget it, in the summer as the landscaping company is there almost every Saturday mowing the lawn at 8 AM sharp. Winter is a disaster, if your car is snowed in, plan on digging yourself out or waiting till it melts because when they FINALLY bring in someone to plow the lot, they either do a VERY poor job of it, or it takes days. Last year whoever plowed, covered up handicapped spots with 10 feet of snow.

I like the area, but this place seriously needs to change some things, for starters bulldoze the carports and garages and just assign 2 spots per apartment. Again that is just my opinion....
