it's not that bad!

there are several good things about 'the pig'. if you want to have people over, you can 'rent' the clubhouse for i think $100 deposit. the managers say they've never had to actually charge anyone. clubhouse is cool, nice big tv, pool table, grills and pool outside. the apartments are spacious (at least, in my view) and there are a lot of community themed things, like every now and then, you'll get breakfast on your way out the gate, there are sometimes raffles or spaghetti feeds or pool tournaments. fun stuff like that. the pig is super accessible from CDA & Spokane via I-90. there are lots of shopping centers nearby and you could walk to the valley mall with ease. it's on the #96 STA line which runs 2x an hour at peak times. our experience with the staff has always been positive. the girls here seem to do pretty well with customer service and things seem to happen more or less when they say things will. tons of storage in each apartment (carport has a storage unit, balcony has a storage unit, large walk-in closet in master bed). pets are allowed with a fee. not a deposit. incentives to renew lease include free carpet cleaning, discounted rent, painted accent wall. . .
a few of the bad things: the walls are pretty thin in spots. our upstairs neighbors are atrocious (we can hear them having sex so loud, we are pulled awake from a dead sleep), kids do run unsupervised for the most part. the pool is entirely too small for a 280 complex and is frequently noisy, crowded and generally hectic. parking is a mess sometimes, people invite guests who park in peoples carports. . .rude. if people have parties you can hear them across the courtyard (which would happen anywhere, i'm guessing). as far as animals go, people seem to have been doing better in our area about picking up after animals, but with the laminate floors, again, we can hear our upstairs neighbors dog clicking around. the appliances and carpets in the apartments are low-scale. we had birds nesting in not only our bathroom vent, but also in our dryer vent. this was pretty trashy. when we'd turn on our bath vent, you could hear birds startled from their rest.
