Albers Mill Lofts

Pretty but noisy

Albers Mill Lofts is a unique and very pretty building. It is close to UW Tacoma and the musuems of downtown Tacoma. That said, the lofts in this beautiful building were insufficiently insulated and poorly constructed. When I rented a unit in this building, I could hear every little thing that my neighbors did - when they swept, when their dog's nails clicked across the living room floor, when they sneezed. There really seemed to be no insulation whatsoever. This caused me endless frustration and many sleepless nights (especially when my neighbors came home drunk and yelling). Oh, and the building is located right across the street from railroad tracks.
I felt like I was getting ripped off at this apartment building. The rent for a one bedroom with parking was $1220 per month. I could have paid $900 for a nice one bedroom apartment less than a block away at Thea's Landing. My advice is to look elsewhere if you want a quiet, peaceful living situation.
