I'm a divorced dad with joint custody of my son--7 days off 7 days on. I lived here from Feb 08 to 31 Mar 09.
First off Aravia bundles the following services in to the rent, so you don't have to deal with multiple bills:
internet, cable, water, sewer, garbage the only things you will have to pay for is electric and your phone. My electric bill averaged as low as $30 in the summer and as high as $90 in the winter (heater cranked full blast the whole time)

The apartments are great they have large kitchens with great appliances, The master bedroom is large. The bedrooms are all hooked up for cable/internet, the fireplace mantle and a small desk by the kitchen. I looked around the whole tacoma, lakewood, spanaway, parkland areas at multiple apartments--you will be hard pressed to find any apartments that meet up to this quality. The only minor source of irritation that i had during my stay at aravia was the parking and I could have alleviated this by purchasing a assigned spot for a miminal amount. The managers are great and will work with you in any way they can. The grounds are clean. The exercise room, the pool, and the hot tub are great and kept clean. They usually have some sort of get together, so you can meet you neighbors either monthly or bi-monthly. I found the Aravia Apartments to have a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. I plan on moving back in after i finish my military committment.
