There was a management change right before the end of 2006. The new management does not respect your privacy at all....is nosy, loud, non-professional and depending on who you are, treats everyone differently. Some rules apply to some people and not to others. The apartment complex now seems to have a reform school atmosphere to it. Grounds are not well kept unless an apartment is being showed to a prospective tenant. Comments were made by my visitors about the only elevator in the complex being so dirty-looks as though its never been wiped down or cleaned. The apartment allows animals but doesn't have anywhere for them to relieve themselves. Management and some of the other tenants take their dogs to relieve themselves in front of another tenants apartment in the little bit of grass they have causing the grass to look terrible. Not to mention what a site it is to come home to people standing around so close to the apartments with a bag waiting for their animals to go. Cat owners are allowed to let their cats roam as they please. You can find cat prints on top of your vehicle most of the time. I am all for tenants with animals but it would of been nice if they wouldn't take their animals to relieve themselves so close to the building. It has a nice shiny pool that 2 other apartment complexes and their family and friends are free to use throughout the summer months-good luck on being able to use the pool when there isn't any kids screaming and yelling in it. When being showed your apartment you never told about the other 2 apartment complexes having full use of the pool-making it a very loud and busy place all summer. Forget about any kind of quiet time in the summer months when the pool is open as parents and management have no respect for the other tenants living in the apartments not using the pool. I mentioned management as the whole family (living here and not living here) uses the pool quite often and is one of the loudest and rudest people who use it. I invited a friend over once to swim but we were unable to use the pool due to being filled with uncontrollable kids. We decided to just lay out in the sun but that was even a challenge due to the kids running, screaming, horse playing and splashing us. There just isn't enough room in the pool area with so many people having access. The garbage area is terrible and out of control at times. They have rules on what you can throw away and what you can't but the rules are never enforced by management. At times the garbage area is overfull and is all over parts of the excess parking lot. Management has signs posted that if you see people who are not tenants using the garbage that you are to report it. I seen on several occasions the neighbors located across the street using it often and using it for more than just household garbage. I'm not going to do the manager's job by trying to control the access to the garbage. I would think this would be the managements problem to take care of the use of the garbage and find it rude of management to ask other tenants to. Maybe management should find another location for the garbage where it wouldn't be so accessible to the outside. This could also cut down on the garbage rates that all of the apartment tenants share a percentage of. It was nice to see that I was paying for the neighbors garbage along with my own. Another location would also give more excess parking. I would not recommend Bay Ridge Apartments!
