I lived in a 2 bd/2ba for about 2 yrs here. I rarely had a problem and when there was any maintenance issues, they were resolved that day. The grounds are beautiful BUT... if you are not one for constant landscaping noise during the day, this is NOT your place! I had two children and I will say that the grounds keeper (great guy) was on the premises 3-4 times a week with his blower and if my children were sleeping... NOT ANYMORE! There were a few times I had to call to the office to ask them to stop with the blowers and all b/c all I could smell was gasoline in my house and it was nauseating! The management was, to say the least, productive. would not say I "liked them" but they did their job. I will warn that the manager can tend to dislike certain residents and "blame" them for issues/incidents without info. My apartment was ok. I was on 2nd floor in the courtyard and was great for kids and getting together with neighbors. In the summer we would have bbq's and get chairs out and all and... maintenance would come around and tell us to get the chairs off the lawn (we would get up but not give in, they didn't really care though, they had to tell us). As far as conditions of the interior of my apartment, the cabinets were old and the drawers in the kitchen were broken and never replaced or fixed, my dishwasher never ran right b/c of improper replacement parts (detergent dispenser would never open, I had to stop the wash and open it and restart it), my dryer always got clogged with lint OUTSIDE and I even had 2 cases of birds making nests in my vent (very hazardous)! The last year I was there every apartment got replacement items (nothing big) and all appliances were tested. They actually repainted the exterior of the buildings and had the balconies checked and rebuilt if necessary (this was scary b/c a lot of balconies were completely torn down due to rot!). I did know a few 1st floor residents that had major issues with black mold on their walls and it was never taken care of properly, it was just painted over. There was often a lot of noise from the Albertson's store that backs to the complex (deliveries and trash and people "drifting" in their cars late at night). The Albertson's was a definite plus b/c you could walk there and there was an opening in the fence that led their. There was a time when a lot of cars were being broken into and soldiers gear was stolen but it was resolved very quickly! The complex overall is nice but it is noisy with the Albertson's and there are also 2 other apartment complexes that back-up to this one (Beaumont <---the WORSE, and Steeple Chase). Ft. Steilacoom park is very close and is a great place!
