The complex is next to a bird sanctuary and lots of woods. If you're in a building facing either the wetlands or the woods, it's very quiet, though bedrooms tend to face the parking lot.

I experienced a few difficulties with management during my 1 1/2 yrs of living here, mainly with the manager's assistant.

There are about a dozen stray cats that roam the area and live in the woods. No one has done anything about this but feed the poor retches since I've lived here.

Recently the complex has converted to Section 42 housing, which is a federal program based on income. If you make more money than they allow, you won't be able to live here. Over half of the residents were turned out without compensation when the program first went into effect. They were told they made too much money and had to leave, some residents had to break their leases to do so.

There also has been a recent scare about a rapist that has attacked twice on property grounds. The police have taken many measures to secure the area, but still there is no third party security service or gate blocking the entrance. (Also, they haven't caught him yet, as of August 2002.)

If you make very little money and want to live in University Place (great area, good schools!) then I would recomend this apartment complex to you, with all its faults. Of course a lot of your experience depends on who you have for neighbors. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
