Rent is high for a one bdm apt. The place is landscaped very nicely, but once you're a resident you find out the truth: There is no resident manager or daytime manager/management. If something minor happens, (like a loud stereo or party) you are told to call the Fife police. As stated, there is no daytime management; the only people on site are very young, entry-level clerks to take checks. They know very little. There is one full time maintenance man for 112 units. The apartments--at least mine, which is like all the others--is built out of shoddy material, break, flakes and dissolves at little or no use. The mega-corporation who owns the outfit will clearly make out at the end -- charging the person moving for all the damage, plus. Worse yet, the water and garbage bill is lumped--all the residents pay the same amount of water and garbage, regardless of the water used--or garbage disposed. This is a suspicious deal--for the organization who collects this monthly "lump fee" is not the City of Fife, as it usually is for Fife residents. Rather it is a private company in the midwest. So, there are several dips into your water and garbage deal before the city is paid by the corporation. (Such is not the case with the electricity which is metered for each unit.) For 790 dollars a month of a small one bdm apartment, without utilities, this is a poor deal, and even poorer management. I recommend you avoid this place and look elsewhere.

I agree. The utility bill is $67 each month. I cannot justify me using all that water and producing all that trash. That's separate from your rent. After living here for the last 5 years, all I've gotten was a rent increase of at least $250. I told the young manager that I can buy a condo for the same price as my rent and she told me I was crazy. I am moving out as soon as I return from my military duties overseas. I should have moved out before I got deployed. Once again, if you can buy a one bedroom condo, you are better off. Good luck if you move here or consider moving here. You have been warned.

Dear Residents/Former Residents; We apologizse if you feel in any way taken advantage off. Please understand that the City of Fife has not implemented any individual meters for water or sewer usage and therefore sends the complex a bi-monthly rather large bill. All our units are billed back ased on how many occupants reside in each home. The only time you will see an increase is if the city of fife imposed an increase for the current charges. We actually deduct a percentile before the bill gets calculated and then passed on to our residents. The advantage of this type of billing is that you don't pay for any overage, leaks or excessive water use by your neighbors. Please feel free to stop by the office should you have any firther questions in reference to the water consumption here at the Lakes. Sincerely, Lakes at Fife
