My 10 reasons why
From: whereismynephi@msn.comDate posted: 7/15/2006
Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
1. Tar leaks from the ceiling in the shower room from the smokers that lived here before hand.
2. The heating vents must be cleaned weekly or mold will start to grow along them and creep up the walls.
3. The washer malfunctions frequently and washes the dishes in dirty water, the fridge freezes things if you put them on the top shelf, and sometimes the tap water looks milkish white instead of clear.
4. On top of whatever your paying ($610-6 month lease, $570-12 month lease) you have to spend another $40 a month on laundry. $1.25 to wash a load ( a SMALL load, trust me), and $2.00 to dry (starts as a $1.00 but you have to do it twice because it doesn't dry your clothes all the way the first time).
5. There is only one pool and it's always over crowded in the summer. The "hot" tub isn't "hot" and your lucky if you catch it at 96'.
6. Your friends and family can't get through the gate unless you come down to the gate yourself with a little white key card and scan them in. It also makes it difficult to call out for Pizza.
7. My neighbor is trying to buy a house but Lakeside Landing is giving them a bad review every time someone calls them for a statement. I would think that maybe my neighbors did something "bad" to piss Lakeside off but the other day we had Park 19 (another apartment complex nearby WITH washer and drier for less) call in to get a statement and they gave US a bad review too. We've only been late on our payment a couple times, and the only reason I think they're giving US all bad reviews is because we're REFUSING to sign another lease with them. It makes it REALLY difficult to move out and you end up having to live month to month forever. That's why we had to stay and sign another lease...
8. The Landlord acts all sweet and nice but it's been three months and she still hasn't gotten back to me about moving me into a different area in the complex (this apartment was spray-painted white where there use to be brown wood. Beneath the sink under the paint is GARBAGE, and BUGS!!!) . They are also suppose to come clean my carpets, and fix my window where someone tried to get in and tore off the mesh (the thing that keeps out bugs) ><.
9. After struggling paying the rent (('m married, and pregnant(no one will hire a pregnant women)) with only one source of income, my husband, I had to go onto Washington State Assistance because I was hungry and we couldn't afford food (DSHS- Food Card). Lakeside Landing REFUSED to give adequate information to DSHS so they couldn't activate my card so I could eat. They claimed there was something wrong with our lease and we needed to sign a new one. Hence why we are here...yet again...for another 6 months. (Just for clarification, my hubby was able to get a better paying job this month and I am now happily off DSHS, but we're still stuck here at Lakeside)
10. This last statement is more personal and probably my own fault in a way but: I had a cat named Shivers (I found her out in the cold and rain and nursed her back to health). Just a couple weeks ago when my hubby was trasfering to his new job (he worked for Top Foods and now works for Col. Dis.), and we got our first car together, and payed back everything on our credit card...Lakeside Landing found out I had a pet. I JUST got her and didn't care to think that there would be a down payment on pets. They wanted $400 for me to keep her...but we had JUST payed off our credit card so...I had togive her up for adoption that week :(. I know it's my own fault, but I loved her, and she was my friend this whole pregnancy. We could have kept her if they would have just waited untill my hubbies next pay check...
