two months in, and we want out

First of all, I really like the apartment Manager...The only complaint about her that I would have is that she wouldn't help me handle my noisy neighbor. Now I know that living in an apartment, you'll hear your neighbor on occasion. But here's the thing: My neighbor has had his music up SO loud that it made our plates and glasses shake A LOT. I'm not over exaggerating. She said that she was assaulted at the last place she worked at so she just wanted me to call the police. Which I did because my 8 month old was trying to go to sleep. Other than that, I really like her, she's friendly, honest, understanding, and great with kids.
My second PRAISE! is how big the private patios are!!! I think its about 10 ft by 10 ft. They're putting in new fences that are nicer looking than the ugly blue they used to be. They're also higher for more privacy.
My water, sewer, and garbage are included in my rent each month. Parking is never an issue. Although some people could re-park on occasion (taking up two spots). The play ground and field is well kept. There are alot of children that go out and play soccer after school.
I do wish that it was a non smoking community, but thats only because my son is here with me. I personally used to smoke so it doesn't bother me, I just don't want my son around it. The other neighbors do it outside on their patio (they have a 6 month old) and leave their daughter in her crib crying while they get high. The smoke gets into my son's room, because the sliding glass door isn't sealed well. So that's a bit upsetting.
The other reason I'm writing this review now, is because tonight I heard a gun shot then a car start up and leave. I know what they sound like, versus a car back firing. So as soon as my husband and I can afford it, we're moving out asap. I need more safety for my family and myself. I wish we could take our apartment manager with us, and the size of the patio.
But the place we're hoping to move into has an alarm system, garage, and at least twice the size of the patio we have now PLUS a fenced in mini yard. Valley Townhomes in Puyallup, WA.
Anyone that is looking for a first time apartment and cant afford too much might want to consider looking here. Until tonight, I thought this place was safe, and the majority of people are really friendly. The police are prompt too, and if you have kids but noisy neighbors...They'll help you out by speaking with your neighbor, even if it isn't "quiet time" just yet.
