Last year we had a series of car thefts, car break-ins and shootings from what was obviously a semi-automatic weapon. These were not isolated incidents because within a 9 day period last summer, there were 5 separate incidents of gunfire.

The response from the local police was very slow, as well.

I cannot warn the current residents enough that when you prepare to move out, expect to be billed at around $900-1200 and that is above what you paid into damage deposit. If you think that you will clean it extra carefully and that their was minimal 'wear and tear', think again. I have spoken to at least 3 former residents that moved and have that collection following them about.

The Monterra (Formerly Park Ghetto) recently transferred billing of our electricity to a company (appropiately named CONservice) in November 2007. My first bill was 43.00 and I was pleased. However, the next bill jumped back up to $66.00, the next was $76.00 and the next one due is $86.00'!'! I called the billing company and the representative and she told me that they take an average of your building's usage and distribute it evenly to each apartment. So if your neighbors are using their laundry facilities more than twice a day, using their heat all the time, generally wasting energy, you are penalized for it. When I asked the representative of Conservice if this was true, she said..."Oh I THINK this is the way we do it". She obviously realized she had said too much.

I am now at my wit's end with Monterra. I have rude, noisy neighbors that are on Section 8 and abusing it, like most are. I hear of vandalism, I see garbage everywhere on the grounds on weekends. I live in constant fear of gunfire and jump if a car backfires.

I am referring this and my complaints to the Attorney General as I believe these complaints are worthy of me breaking my lease.

I am a former tenant, one year ago next month, and am saddened to hear that problems there are the same and worse in some parts. Not surprised though. I had a professional cleaner come in and clean, bought new blinds, painted and replaced all bulbs and they still are trying to bill me over $800.00. I am in a dispute currently about this with them. I remember not a weekend went by that you did not see moving vans in and out of the place. The staff also go into your apartment and steal jewelery and other things. This was proven and one of the people fired or moved to another pinnacle loctaion. The manager and staff out and out lie to the tenants and then evict them and deny any deals made. Pierce County Housing Authority and the management do nothing for the section 8 cheaters, as I have complained NUMEROUS times to them. They raise rent like crazy depending on if you keep your mouth shut about their errors, lack of security and lax repairs. The last rental increase, due to my many letters to HUD and Housing Authority and the Attorney General, etc.. THEY RAISED MY RENT $103.00!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I moved. I took all the precautions to ensure I did not get charged repairs and cleaning expenses and then I got the close out bill of over $800.00, and that is after they took out my deposit!!!! I am still waiting for them to provide proof, ie; pictures, reciepts, etc... I have proof and they stil are sending me to collection. DO NOT MOVE HERE. YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR MONEY AND CREDIT AND THEY WILL SLAUGHTER YOU WITH THE REFERRAL CALL FROM FUTURE MANAGERS AND/OR BANKS. They lied to them making it near impossible to find a place to live. I, thankfully, saved the letters they wrote me begging me not to move, and finally a manger took me in. I showed her all the negative reviews and the letters from the manager saying I was a good tenant, and they still lied and ruined my future dweelings.
