Frustrating

So we rented an apartment here. The construction and layout of the apartment was, in general fine (though kitchen and bathroom are small). Nice big open main space.

Little ventilation. No external fans, only open windows. Wall construction is often solid concrete, and this lead to many issues with mold. We eventually had to purchase a dehumidifier. This is particularly a problem in the bathroom. The ceiling /actually fell apart/ due to rot but was not replaced until after the first showing to a new prospective tenant - prior to that, "we can't find a leak, so it must just be ambient" (note: a middle of the night steady drip in one location, many many hours after you've last showered, is /not/ ambient moisture), and not repaired. Way to make you feel special - repeated complaints to management and maintenance ignored, until hey, ain't no new tenant going to accept this!

Parking out back was just acceptable. It's a tight fit for everyone but seems to be okay most of the time.

Staff are often absent during posted hours (in the sense of "office locked for hours on end", not "busy elsewhere in complex").

Laundry is under stress. There are adequate numbers of washers and driers, or would be /if/ (and this applies more to the driers) they were all efficient. As it is, only 2 of 6 driers can be relied upon to even come /close/ to drying a load in an hour.

Check your rental agreement closely.

On multiple occasions, we were surprised (to put it mildly) to hear doorbell ringing, followed by keys in the door, and management staff/maintenance entering the apartment. Apparently "no or insufficiently quick answer to doorbell" is deemed an acceptable substitute for "notice to enter". We had to formally complain about this.

This place would have been tolerable, even acceptable - it's in a great area of town - if it weren't for these issues. In the end, the above combination of things forced us to leave, unsatisfied.
