A lot of the prior issues have been addressed. Our Elevators have been upgraded, our basement has been repainted, our stairs and walls have all been repainted. The lobby is refurnished and we have new managers. They've bent over backwards to help me out and have occasionally offered us excess help when I was in dire financial straights.

They have also hired a part-time cleaner that now does a damned fine job in keeping our new elevators looking clean, our hallways vacuumed and our laundry room free of left-over clothes and goods and whatnot from former or current tenants.

Parking is sometimes an issue but I've seen what looks like private security scanning the parking lot for cars without parking stickers. I believe he's a resident and doesn't directly work for the building though. I enjoy that none-the-less because I hate having to park out on the street. I think he also is looking out for everyone in the building too.

The floorplan is fine for what it is. The building is built on less than a half an acre so it was built "tall" and not wide. Several other high-rise buildings have this same feature.

However, both of my bathrooms have suffered from the NON TOXIC mold. The type of mold in the bathrooms here is not the toxic type but are a cause of the low-sitting inadequate ventilation. This is expected due to the design, but those of us who know how to use a bottle of bleach solution, a sponge and a pair of safety goggles can really tackle the issue. Besides, the mold is feeding off of our own soap-scum and fecal-bacteria.

I've had to have several repairs done to my apartment due to the age of the components. And with several hundred units, one maintenance guy and a long work-order list (usually trivial and small crap from what I understand), they eventually will get around to it.

Many of the longer-term tenants are friendly. The management has cracked down on mischievous activity by tenants and guests of tenants. Albeit the graffiti (caused by "gangster" Stadium High School students) on the exterior walls gets a bit annoying, yet gets cleaned up usually the same day.

Car break-ins will happen anywhere. With the tweakers coming from Downtown and Hilltop, the break-ins are bound to happen. I agree we need more security, or camera's or lighting or even controlled access to that parking lot in the back, as my vehicle fell victim to a break-in about a year ago. But that was more my mistake than anything else as I left my empty laptop bag in there for the world to see.

I haven't had a problem with neighbor noise so to speak. Construction outside is very seldom a problem. When they were changing the elevators out for new ones earlier this year, that was an issue between 7AM and 2PM, my usual sleep time.

I have a water-view apartment, which is one of the smaller 1-bedrooms but I have plenty of space for my junk. We have storage units up on the flight just above the 17th floor and between the roof.

The new elevators are fast, and if you go up from the basement to the 17th floor, your ears will probably pop.

But I give this a good 4/5. I would, and have recommended the building to friends.
