I lived at Westmall Terrace in two different apartments from 2004 -2006. The manager when I moved there was great. Six months after moving in I wanted to upgrade to a bigger apartment and had no trouble. I kept my apartment extremely clean and recieved all of my deposit back as a credit towards the new apartment. The trouble started when the other manager took over. Shortly after taking over, she charged me $50 for some kind of public disturbance fee because someone parked in the wrong spot and when she yelled at them, they peeled out as they left and she said that she had seen them knocking on my door prior to the confrontation so somehow it was my fault, even though I wasn't home and had no idea what she was talking about. She also let her young children (like 5-6 year olds) roam all over the apartments and they would knock on people's door asking for food. (totally negligent mother) When I approached her about her child begging she make excuses about how her daughter was " a little retarded" and that I should ignore it. I moved out as soon as my lease was up and I never got my deposit back even after calling her several times and getting the run around. I recently starting recieving collections notices, (two years later) for $600 in "damages" to my apartment. My apartment was never messy when I lived there let alone when I moved out. I am livid that this is happening and affecting my credit, when I called the apartments and spoke to her, she was completely rude, unprofessional and refused to discuss it with me in any detail. Strangely, she couldn't find the records of my deposit and could not explain what damages were done to the apartment but assured me that "it would have had to have been really bad for me to charge you, I'm really lenient about how people leave their apartments, everyone's definition of clean is different" I would not recomend moving in there until there is a change in management. And do not ever ever give her cash.
