We've lived at The WR for a few years (on both sides of the street). We've seen the great, the good, the bad and the ugly! But I honestly have to say living in such a big apartment community and living in peace really depends ALOT on YOU. I've talked to tons of people who complain about noise, maintenance, rent, parking, neighbors and all that. But 90% of those people also say they never let management know because they assume management doesn't care and "probably won't do anything." I have found the best way to have at least a decent standard of living at The WR is to TAKE OWNERSHIP-TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! There's been times when I've had issues that the front office was too lazy to resolve and I ended up calling a district manager in Seattle. Did I get a positive result' You bet! There's also times when I had a grief and there was just no way to get around it. That's life in a large apartment community. I guess my point is, if more people would get off their butts and take responsibility for what's going on around them (and take more responsibility for their own actions), The WR would be much nicer. If you pay rent there, you have rights to a decent, quiet standard of living. Do what I do when things go wrong. Go all the way to try and resolve the problem; even if that means going over someone's head. And at the same time, be respectful to the office staff and HELP THEM make it a nice place to live. As the Asst. Manager has reminded me in the past: "We can't see everything at once; we need our tenants to help us." YOU CAN make it a nicer place to live. If you don't like the way the place is, work to make it better! Take action and take ownership, or quit bitching!

When you complain all the time like all the military members that live there do and get nothing done from the houseing office onpost and at the office and the staff complains that you make a complaint. And how do you make a place nicer to live when the lawn is over watered all summer long. You can't walk in the grass at all in the summer. I have stayed up at night and timed the water. it stayes on for 3 hours every night. you only have to water the yard for 15 minutes at night not for 3 HOURS. also the parking they say they are going to get rid of cars that are parked in yor spot for a month and they have no idea who the car belongs to but they don't, they don't call the tow company like they should. instead the car sitts there untill the owner finally moves it a month later. And the swimming pools they have had to close them down numerous times because they put way to much chlorine in them and you can't go in them for weeks at a time. How can you sit there and say that it's the people that live there when the staff runs the place doesn't do anything about it and makesw it worse for the residents.

You have some good points; I'm not fond of the soggy lawns either. But I don't agree with the cars parked for a month. I've had to notify the office several times of abandoned cars and they've always dealt with them. Yes, I have had to remind them more than once on occasion. I've timed the sprinklers in my area and they're not on for 3 hours. If you're military, I have to admit I can't say I've been in your shoes so I really have no leg to stand on because military have to deal with the rental office and staff on post. But I am proud of my military neighbors; I literally have seen their pain and I'm not lying. It's tough for military members in more ways than one right now.
