The Westridges are great if you like to be surrounded by 19 year old army privates who have no respect for anyone or anything whatsoever. Also, don't expect any help from the office. Equity Residential is a gigantic corporation...they could care less about you. They've got a contract with the military and will replace you in a second. Oh, and all the military folks there get 15% off, so I hope that makes you feel better about paying the posted rates. Some of my highlights at the Westridges: the day I moved in someone was shot in one of the parking lots. Oh, and I'll never forget the gang fight (yes, just like in Westside Story) right outside my building where someone got stabbed. The best part about the gang fight was that it took the police 17 minutes to show up, and when I called 911 the operator told me that she had already had tons of calls on it. Extremely comforting, right' Oh, and I'll never forget when they pressure-washed my balcony and destroyed my BBQ and all of my patio stuff. And it made me feel all better when I got a notice on my door the next day saying "We're pressure washing your balcony today, please remove your belongings. We will not be held responsible for any damages." I'd say that the Westridges are the Walmart of apartments. Yeah, that's about it. Oh, PS: whenever the repair guys would do work in my apartment they'd always pee all over my bathroom.

Well...our military is deserving of whatever discount that they get. In fact, they deserve more!!! Our soldiers...in some cases...give their lives to protect ours. Before you start saying stuff about them getting a discount...you should think, and then be thankful to them. Yes, there are some young, out of control ones...but, I am proud of our military!

Im with you, My husband and i are both 25 years old and have two daughters who are 4 and 2. We should get a bigger discount or even free rent (my opinion). We deserve alot more credit then most people think. Our men and woman are there fighting for you. and all you want to do is moan and complain about it. some are out of control but oh well they are 19 years old, some people just dont get mature until later on. I hate the westridges as well and i can say a ton about this place too. I cant wait to find my first purchase to move out!

Well, I would just like to say this.... One my husband is a pvt.. and he does not act like you say! The military people here in westridge go in places you never would.. So don't you think that a little break for them is nice... Dude they fight for you to be able to write this stuff!

Ok, first of all, before you try to make yourself look tough and smart, learn the facts cause you made youself look kind of dumb. For the most part, privates can't live off post, unless they are married. So choose the correct ranking please. ( oh that would be an E5) Second, hell yeah we get a discount, my husband is serving for your selfish a**!!! And it's not 15% its 5% thank you, but it definitely needs to be more! Also, your BBQer deserved to get destroyed. It's illegal to have one at an apartment. My husband and I have been looking for apartments for almost three weeks and we chose Westridge, and from the research I've done, no matter what, there are going to be good things and bad things about any place. And let me tell you, you live in TACOMA!!!!!! I've lived here my whole life, get used to the violence. You think it's bad there, move to the EAST SIDE!!!

Firstly, I think it'd be to the advantage of the prospective tenants to keep this about the Westridges and not make it personal. Pretty much whatever valid points you posted about the apartments are rendered moot when it gets trashy and people start trying to hit below the belt. Secondly: Grills are absolutely allowed. Propane. Charcoal is dangerous for many reasons. Obviously, spillage. Also, if you're bbq'ing on the lower levels - the fumes can fill your upstairs neighbors apartment and replace the oxygen, suffocating them (if you're sleeping, you wouldn't even know it). That's why it's legal to own propane grills in an apartment. As far as discounts - I'd be interested to see who is paying what. I don't like that the apartment office asks for your husband's rank. They are getting an allotment, that's enough. I think they take advantage of that and work up to eventually use all of your BAH. I'd like to see what inconsistencies there are. One that I'm concerned with are transfer fees. I didn't pay them, my friend did. Why?
