I was surprised at how nice my apartment here at La Vista was. Although Tukwila itself may seem a bit removed from the larger cities of the area, but La Vista is approximately 15 minutes from both downtown Seattle and downtown Bellevue, about 20 minutes from Federal Way and 30 minutes from Tacoma.
The apartments themselves are large, with lots of closet space. I haven't had any maintenence issues and the staff are reasonably easy to get ahold of.
Don't move in here for the fitness center (pitiful) or pool (cocktail) but rather for its proximity to the major work centers of the area. One draw back to Tukwila itself is that it has no grocery or drug stores, you have to go into Renton or up to SeaTac for that.
As apartments are turning over new carpeting and ceiling fans are being installed, so the management is attempting to update things a bit. This is a great complex for 20-somethings, but probably not good for families due to the lack of greenbelt.
Oh, one drawback- The reason La Vista is so accessible is that it faces the junction of Interstate 5, Hwy 405 and HWY 519. This lends itself to a constant drone from the cars. You don't really notice it until the middle of the night when it's gone, but don't move in here if you need silence to relax.
At this time (Feb. 2002), DSL is unavailable at La Vista. Broadband via cable is available, but there is only one cable port in the entire apartment, and the locak cable provider refuses to install new jacks. This means that you have to trail long pieces of coaxial from the living room to your bedroom for your TV there, and to your desk wherever your computer is.
