What got me to move in was the location, the new applicances and energy efficiant windows and doors, but when I moved in I was slightly disappionted. The first thing that hit me was a cat pee smell, that the carpets look like they have been around for a while with everything from bleach stains to cig burns, and then I can hear everything my upstairs neighbors do, from entering their apartment to walking around, watching tv, even if their kitchen sink is dripping.
