The management makes the difference

I've lived here for about 1 1/2 years so far. One of the biggest reasons I'm still here is the manager. Jody's always been understanding when I've come to her with something, and I appreciate her flexibility and willingness to listen.
Alder Creek is a large apartment complex, and has the problems that come along with it. It seems like some people have some expectations that are a little unrealistic. Maintenance is busy, some of the neighbors are a little sketchy, people let their kids run around, but if you pay your rent and don't cause problems it's a perfectly acceptable place to live. The construction is getting elderly, but the maintenance folks have always fixed what needed fixing without any trouble.
The bottom line for me is that I don't feel like my home is run by some huge faceless corporation, I feel like it's run by a person I can go to if there's a problem. They leave you alone, if that's what you want, and the things that really need to be taken care of get taken care of.
Things I don't really care for:
Garage rent is a little steep.
The townhouse rent is outpacing similar complexes in the area (a little).
Too many unsupervised kids.
Dated appliances/trim.
One trash compactor far away.
Things I like:
Great staff.
Great location.
Big rooms (townhouses, at least).
Good parking.
